To meet the challenges of climate change and the associated evolutions of the energy markets,
TotalEnergies plans to have 35 GW of renewables generation capacities in operation by 2025
and 100 GW by 2030. Of this, 3 GW is planned to be achieved in 2025 by the Distributed
Generation Business Unit (on-site solar) and 9 GW by 2030.
TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation (DG) - a fully owned subsidiary of
TotalEnergies SE (created in 2019) - is dedicated to the development, construction, operation
and financing of Industrial and Commercial solar projects worldwide. DG ambition is to develop
in the next 5 years an international leadership and profitable presence in the solar DG market,
aiming at 10 to 20% market share in the key selected markets
To support this ambition, TotalEnergies is looking for a Head of Engineering Distributed
Generation APAC based in TotalEnergies Renewables in Bangalore (India).
Reporting to the Head of Technical Operations DG APAC based in the Singapore Management
Team, he/she will be in charge of a team of 15 local Design engineers who design photovoltaic
power plants and optimize them in terms of performance and profitability. As a head of
Engineering, he/she is a team member, based on his/her strong PV experience and is expected
to lead and excel the team capability to support the growing needs of TotalEnergies business.
Job dimension
? Overall responsibility for Engineering and Technical Design of DG APAC Projects from
Presales to Operational assets
? Responsible for the transition of the current Engineering/ Design organization to a
Regional Center of Excellence including Technical Support, Project/Process Quality
control and Technical Training
? Ensure timely responses to customer tenders, presales requests and project execution.
Achieve 0 delays from target dates for presales requests.
? Develop and Implement Technical Training concepts for Technical and Non-Technical
Functions within Total Energies DG.
? Support execution of projects by proper review and updating of all technical documents.
? Hiring, onboarding and setting up systems and process for Engineering Design,
Operational Assets Technical support, M&A Technical Due Diligence and Quality
Control.
? Managing and provide leadership for the Day-to-Day Activity in the DG APAC Design
Center including general leadership to other cross functions based in the Office location
? Review Tender documents and ensure request for Engineering Request from Sales are
generate with adequate responses for the same.
? Review of Project documents and updating of the same to ensure projects are built to
quality, reliability and on time.
? Regularly monitor KPI reports of the Teams performance and follow up with respective
Sales and Country function to ensure requirement are met.
? Ensure a standardized costing of the Project across the Region including utilization of a
Standard Costing tool
? Provide Technical support to Operational Assets including Root cause and development
of Technical Upgrade solution

? Manage the balance of cost and performance by use of right mix of components and
engineering practices.
? Ensure compliance to the wide array of regulatory and customer requirements across
the region.
? Be able to communicate and improvise technical documents received from nascent
markets with little knowledge of Solar PV.
? Create effective communication to ensure customer understand the merit of our offering.
? Simultaneously engage on a large number of different types of projects in a wide
geography with varying requirements.
Accountabilities
? Ensure the tender or customer requests are complied with along with the financial
requirements of the project to ensure successful bid.
? Ensure the regulatory requirements for the specific project and country are well
understood and met.
? Effectively communicate concerns on technical documents received from EPC and
resolve the same.
Qualification experience required
? An engineering degree preferable in Electrical.
? Good understanding and experience of PV project lifecycle from bidding to operations.
? Profound leadership experience in managing a diverse team
? Sound understanding of the applicable codes and standards with regards to PV across
different countries.
? Understanding a wide variety of technical skills – Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Software
etc.
? Be able to effectively understand customer requirements and differentiate the want and
the need.
? Be updated on the changing technical trends and be able to adapt the right mix of
technology.
